Chicagoby mbrutus2009Comment by mariuca: You are a true traveller Marko! You made a booklet that captivates even from this first image.
You made us aware again with energy and gusto of how interesting Chicago is and how we can get lost in counting the percentage of our bill!
Most of the B&W images are iconic. Wonderful. |

Chicagoby mbrutus2009Comment by primabarbara: Marko,
before I start with my thoughts about your essay I want to tell you that I was in Chicago two times, in 1987 (when Sears Tower was the tallest building of the world) and in 1997 (the "bean" wasn't yet installed!) - both times in summer. Ahhh, memories...
It makes me happy to see your essay covering a whole visit to this amazing city, and above all you started with food! Tasteful! Your street shots are impressing, a wonderful variety of different situations well seen and recorded. I'm not familiar with Adobe Spark but it is fun to scroll with you through Chicago. Thanks for taking us with you.
Finally I'm nitpicking: I'd loved your essay even more if you stayed either colour or bw for one complete theme. F.e. color for food, architecture and pictures of Jen, b&w for street shots and pictures at the Bean. But that is only my personal taste.
I'm already looking forward to your next visit to a foreign place! |

An appealing image that meets contributes to the open challenge well
Congratulations Marko for your ribbon, very well deserved for such remarkable image. What really makes the image is the tremendous detail from the lovely sharp focus together with the shallow DOF that helps it really stand out. Your composition is spot on, I love the surrounding foliage it is all so convincing. I think there is a very slight tendency towards over-sharpening but it really does not deter, it certainly shouldn’t be confused with the lovely rim lighting on his back. A great image thanks for sharing. |

Camouflage by mbrutus2009Comment by GeorgesBogaert: Wow, NG worth photography. Really like the colors and brightness in this picture. The use of a black border doesn't add more to the picture, it feels more that it's locked up in his own world. I won't vote you lower for that. So, you get my 10 and my Red Dragon Award.
