Oranges? I thought we were supposed to take a shot with orange in it... not oranges :s My 2 cents: Due to lack of lighting, the colors of this shot look too dull IMO. Not the best choice of background either. White would've looked better. Also, the ambient light (sort of violet) on the oranges doesn't go too well. A little too much of NeatImage used too i think. I like the use of soft focus. However: those are ORANGES, the background is distracting with the folds, the reflections on them are unattractive, as are the oranges themselves. Try saturating it more to bring out the colors. Score: 3

Yeah they are ugly. The composition is so-so; 'filling the frame' is one way to make it more interesting maybe. You have colour cast in the shot which can be taken out using Levels in Photoshop(or other editting software). Softer/diffuse/indirect light would have caused less glare on your subject. Oh yeah, one other thing.....your subject was specifically mentioned in challenge outline has one of the items not to shoot. Sorry. 1

Yes, and the light/color and background are not complimentary. You'll need to be a bit more creative to score higher on DPC.

You've lit this perfectly. They're a little too close to the background though therefore not blurring the background enough. They might have had more impact with a white background.
