My first impression is, "that sucks (rush hour traffic), I know what that's like." You got my emotional vote. I think most Americans in a large city can relate to this pic.
ETA: I think this caught the essence of a main street that is a different take. A lot of the other submissions are the "pretty" side of a main street. I think this will be(?) one of the under rated images.

Cool image. Because of the noise, I wonder if it was shot with an iPhone. :) Actually, I don't think the noise adds anything to this image, so my preference would be to remove it. I really like the composition, the colors, and the starry red lights.

picture isn't as clear as it could be, but i give you credit for at least capturing the theme of the challenge... this clearly shows the essence of a NYC street! nice work!
