This was in and out of my 3 choices for the Alt-Jury. Must confess, you nailed the title, but even without it, the image crept into my heart the first time I saw it. The viewpoint, the waving hands, the smile, it's all so personal. An image to treasure. Thank you for sharing it.

Elements of suburban life exposed. We are constantly greeting and leaving each other, so much rushing around that our true selves are replaced by faded apparitions, always coming and going, leaving and waiving and greeting and au-revoir-ing.

On a visual level, very nice compositional lines, the garage, the car window, a nice shot of the woods. Goodbye it is.
