Good capture but slightly OOF and a little oversharpened. Interesting perspective in a challenge full of simular shots. He's pretty small.

7 - Nice colors. A different angle and more focus on the 'spider with attitude' would have been better. Looks like part of a web on the leaf to the left of 'him' - an 'anchor' for windy days perhaps.

The problem with photographing something so small is the loss of detail when you make it as large as possible (one of the reasons I didn't enter my sweatbee image). Voters here want big/in your face. The image itself looks a tad oversharpened due to the what had to be a 100% crop, yes? Most people won't look at it that way - its a shame. 7 - good luck in the challenge!

I agree with kevrobertson about the tonal range, but there's something about your eyes that seem too white. I'd like to see a shot with you looking down a little, so there isn't so much white underneath. I really like the skin tones and curves under your face (ooh, I think this is starting to sound a little weird...). Also, I have no idea if this would be an improvement or a mistake, but I can't help but wonder if it might be better with your right ear in the frame. The lighting seems very good, and I'm impressed. Good job.

This is really good. I love the lighting, whatever you did. The tones are great and it looks natural. Great shadows. I should do as well the first time!!! Bravo.
