I gave this a 5. Not because it was bad, but to me it doesn't strongly fit in the challenge and it's a bit cluttered for me. I think framing it with the tree and the hedge make it fit a bit better in the challenge, but it clutters it a bit. Also, I'm not sure what the subject is supposed to be. My eye is drawn to the umbrella, but I don't think that was the intention. I think maybe a little bit "cleaner" shot with out as much clutter would have appealed to me more.

I get the title, so DMC, but I find that theres no central subject in the shot to focus on. There are cutoff surfer legs on board above surfer on right standing holding board. The umbrella and OOF leaves upfront also distract. Sorry! 5.

Not much tie to the challenge, and feels like a quick snapshot without much thought behind it. The umbrella offers some good possibilities, which were not exploited as well as they could have been. Just a 4 from me. Sorry.

This is a tough one to offer critique and suggestion. First of all, I have no idea what I am looking at, so it is difficult for me to relate to the subject or understand how it should look. Next, it just seems like a snapshot of an odd object with 9 levels on a store shelf; or perhaps 9 objects. I do appreciate that the focal plan is where my eye agrees with it. I don't care for the centered composition in this one, especially with the empty area below and to the right of the subject. That creates a hole and drags my eye right into it. I do like the lighting and colors you captured on the subject. That adds a good deal of interest even without knowing what I am looking at. Even with the interest, there are many flaws that detract from the score. I see it as a 3.
