Nice stripe of orange glistening sand at the edge of the water, and good balance of exposure. Makes me want something more to grab my eye. Looks like a well-prepared stage just waiting for the actors to arrive.

A good sunset pic with nice reflection of the gold at the water's edge. Lacks a "DPC Wow!" factor for a high score. The water could use a bit more crispness, though I'm not sure how to tell you to get that. Perhaps a faster ISO so you can use a narrower aperture with a shutter speed that would still stop the water's motion. Your best bet is to ask after the challenge if you want more info - lots of the landscape photogs would probably be glad to help you out.
