Casa do Penedosby LelezComment by Jutilda: WOW - what a cool place. Nothing like that here in the States. When I first read "Sintra" I thought Sinatra - and that took on a meaning all its own. HAHAHA |

Casa do Penedosby LelezComment by digifotojo: Googled it.. also known as Casa dos Penedos:
On the slops of the mountain is Casa dos Penedos (aka House of stones). Quite a unique piece of architecture with its curves and peaked towers not to mention the colour. Built in 1921-22, the base of this mansion is in the form of arches and it all just rises up from there in amongst the dense foliage. The house was designed by Raul Lino who lived an amazing long life for his time. Born in 1879, he studied both in England and Germany. Many of his creations are scattered throughout Portugal. They include the Tivoli Theatre and Brazil Pavilion in Lisbon, St Patricks Tower in Estorial and the Casa do Cipreste also in Sintra. The house is privately owned.

Casa do Penedosby LelezComment by jomari: Whatever that building is, it looks like it belongs in a fairytale. Perhaps the one where everyone goes to sleep for 100 years. |

Vendettaby LelezComment by CNovack: Oh my! So as I see it this is the start of another Hatfield vs McCoys family feud...Woodies vs. Duckies;-) Tis a twisted humor take on those who favor woodies over duckies. Very creative use of the green onions as the trees. Lighting is good with all elements well lit. Not my usual cup of tea but well done and in the above average category...or should that be cate gory;-P |
