jillzComment by e301: I neither entered nor voted on this challenge - I couldn't clearly see my way through the forest of confusions of meanings and aproaches: my dominant thought was 'surely any decent photograph should have an element of the unanwered to it?'
I don't think I really see the question: one feeling from seeing a specimen jar is that it's an
answered question. As to the image tecnically: no problems - perhaps a little straightforwardly documentary rather than illustrative, and the distortion is a little distracting. The capture of light is excellent, really well done - maybe a fraction shorter exposure would have added some more depth, but that's a minor point, and the variety of tones here is well captured.
Don't think, in the scheme of things, you're unfairly treated by the final score of this picture, nor it's 44th place.
A final note: if you're asking for critiques, at least entering the ISO, aperture and shutter speed would be courteous - and perhaps some idea of what you were attempting in the comments would probably make the critics comments more helpful to you.
