My first thought at seeing the shadowy hooks in the foreground was SNAKES!! Thank goodness I realize they are not - I will be able to sleep tonight! The colors are very rich and I love the cobalt sky.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: This should be HDR overkill but somehow you've pulled it off - the effect perfectly suits the image and cliche becomes surprisingly appropriate drama. The tones are wonderful and the pockets of sharpness towards the margins of the image work well to lead the eye.

Critical stuff: That dark streak of dark cloud on the left is a little distracting - it might have paid to clone some bright clouds in there to break it up a bit.

Overall: Very nicely made.
