Day4-after.jpgby JakerComment by TCGuru: I like what you did with the tilt, much improved. If you want to add some action in that center cloud blank space, try cloning in one of the other clouds from another area of the image. :) I like the dark/light that you ended up with. Kinda cool actually. |

Day3-after.jpgby JakerComment by love: I think I like the original image better than the crop but like the black and white in the final better than the original. . . long story short answer: try doing the same effect on the entire image without the crop. IMHO |

Day3-after.jpgby JakerComment by TCGuru: I like the B&W conversion. When you increased the contrast, you lost a lot of details on the end of the bench though. I adore the lines that the bench make with the wall and the shadows of the end piece on the concrete underneath the bench :) |

Day4-after.jpgby JakerComment by MelonMusketeer: There is a sun ray, a shadow of a cloud, in the center of the frame at the top. It didn't show up clearly until you did the toning. Try reducing the amount of black empty space at the bottom in the finished shot, right up to near the horizon, and see if it makes a difference in the way this image comes across.
It's cool the way the trees in the far background give a big sense of scale to the shot.
This looks like a Central Florida pasture scene. |

Day4-after.jpgby JakerComment by gwe21: if it were me I would crop it more so that less of the (bottom) of the image shows.. then the focus would be on the palms and the silhouttes.. (do I make any sense??) |

Day3-after.jpgby JakerComment by Ann: I like what you've done, it's a vast improvement over the original. I like the detail you've brougt into the wood, and the brick on the right side. The shadows may be a little too dark, you've lost a lot of detail in the dark areas. |

Day3-after.jpgby JakerComment by roz: love your process on this jake .. excellent crop . you've lifted a nice photograph into a different place .. a very very good place ... !!..:)
i wish i could help you re your question about learning photoshop .. but i've pretty much learnt my way much as you have .. fumbling along and occasionally picking up a hint here and there .. i'm sure i could've learnt a lot faster if i had an instruction book, but i'm more a hands on, doing it, sort'v person and i find reading that stuff a pain .. must be the left or right brain thing .. i'm sure i've seen a book called 'photoshop for dummies' .. !! .. dont be offended i have a book called 'philosophy for dummies' .. lol ..
i havent read a lot of it yet .. !!
i'm sure you'll be inundated with helpful ideas for increasing your knowledge tho .. that's the beauty of dpc .. so many great ppl willing to help .. :) |

Day3-after.jpgby JakerComment by chuck54: Wow. I like this. Nice leading lines and a good range of blacks and grays. You might want to lighten up the lower and upper left corner enough to bring back in some detail. |

Day2-after.jpgby JakerComment by Ann: Well done! Nice conversion. I'm not sure whether I like everything removed at the top, but since you looked at it both ways, I'm guessing you're right.... |
