Good idea to take this outside. Perhaps trying later in the day when it's darker and more ominous might have helped the feeling of danger. I guess I am just not sensing danger in broad daylight? Good use of DOF, though. On the right track, for sure!

Very well spotted and captured.

With the IS on the lens you've got you can afford to go way slower than that hand held, I have a picture of a Mandarin Duck on my profile that was hand held at 1/60th, so you may have got away with ISO 400 on this.

Have you got a spare goose head you could paste into this to bring mum back in :- )

Very nice shot of two beautiful creatures. I'm suprised they let you get so close, the ones around here are very skittish and take off when your anywhere withing 30 feet of them!

I hate Canadian Geese expect for the little chicks. This is such a cute shot, I see hundreds of geese daily and have never once seen one do this. Maybe I should pay them more attention from now on =)
