"Pattern with-in the Glass" by Joker1114Comment by cstein96: I voted this one a 4 and I wish I had done it a little higher, maybe a 6. I tend to vote lower on "less creative" shots. The thing I dont like is the dark silhouetted building on the right. I think it detracts from your image a bit. One of the things I really like, which you probably noticed too, is the curviture of the building.
Cliche as it seems- what really matters, despite the low scores you received, is that you like it |

"Pattern with-in the Glass" by Joker1114Comment by Melethia: This did very well - top 50 and almost a 6.0. You don't have a disproportionate amount of "low" scores at all. Perhaps there are voters who hate building reflection shots. There are students from classes who are viewing and voting as part of their school requirement - maybe they aren't putting much thought into it. In any case, seven votes of 3 or lower out of nearly 300 is not unexpected by standard distribution, and is in fact quite low. If you look at the ends - you have seven votes of 3 and lower, and 22 votes of 8 or higher. In other words, your voting is actually skewed a bit toward the high end. That would be a good thing! Also, for whatever reason, there are voters for whom a 4 is average instead of a 5. Oh - meant to start out with this - congrats on the new personal best! I'm sure you'll replace it with even higher scoring shots in no time at all! Message edited by author 2008-04-03 03:25:41. |

Jefferson Bluesby Joker1114Comment by AP: yeah man, have to agree with the commenters below, def way over-saturated, as shown in the bright blues in the steps where there should not be any bright blues. with less color, or even black and white, i think this picture would have been a 6+, but did not deserve a 4.32. composition and framing is great, so is the light, processing just threw people off. And its a bit grainy, could use some neat image too! |

"Pattern with-in the Glass" by Joker1114Comment by tootsweet: How tall is the glass building? The reflection is obviously the subject as there is a definite pattern to it, but the glass is a secondary pattern and the windows are a tertiary. If there was a way to widen this shot, without losing the initial intent, I would love to see that result, just to compare. |
