P&S Day 9: Jess VIIby socalsteveComment by Art Roflmao: I do love how you captured her face, but not sure the processing or the rest of the pose is very flattering. I do look forward to your series shots though, Steve - It's all about experimenting, practice, etc. :) |

Art, how did you do the left eye? it changes the image quite a bit. also, can you elaborate on hair pp? |
LOL - well, I tried to darken the left eye a little, but part of the iris was really blown, so I used a circular mask with 2px feather on the right eye just around the iris and copied it onto the left. Coulda done better with the full size image, but oh well. Sometimes I have fixed a partially blown iris by selecting (with feathered mask) around the blown iris, then subtracting the pupil and subtracting the blown part, then copy/paste onto a new layer and rotate it so essentially you use one part of the same iris to rebuild the blown part.
The hair: Clone the wirey strays, use liquify and push/reshape the hair with a large diameter bursh, starting from a bit of a distance away from the edge of the hair and just pushing it in slightly. This caused some of the background to warp in, leaving transparent holes around parts of the edge - just painted that in with the bkg color afterwards. |
