I was thinking sawdust or shavings of plastic laminate and the Petey's hair adds scale to the image. Nice sharp focus on the hair.

Some dusty bits here. At first I couldn't figure out how this would hold DVD's then I remembered the shiny tools part of your comments. I don't think I'd be using the big curved drill bit any time soon. I know it is lens distortion. Bright orange and bright twisted metal make for an interesting subject.

Sorry to hear about the puppies, I hope they are OK.

No worries, it's one of Petey's hairs! We're working on a DVD case, these are the shavings from the router. Petey likes to hang around and help.
