One Too Many Low Scores by LydiaComment by bspurgeon: Lydia, less than 4 percent of the voters likely agreed with k10dguy. Like I said before, life is rough at the top! There are always people looking to degrade accomplishments of others rather than be gracious.
Deb made a good point, this is a good background for a portrait. |

One Too Many Low Scores by LydiaComment by dcanossa: Lydia, please! If I were to quit for my low scores, I would have been gone even before my first post!! LOL
And OUCH! Poor camera! If you don't want it anymore, I could make good use of it!!! LOL
Anyway, my true congrats to you, for your efforts and perseverance, but mainly for the great idea and shot! |

Simple Glamourby LydiaComment by Melethia: Dang, she's gorgeous!!! (And I'm not her mother so that's an unbiased opinion.) I don't mind her arm cut off at all; as for texture on the background, a textured background rather than a wrinkled one might be more please, or a VERY wrinkled one so it's obvious it's intentional, maybe. Great eyes, great pose, great look, and it ended up much better than a 5.3. |

One Too Many Low Scores by LydiaComment by K3Master: I would have voted it lower for partly-DNMC.
I'll be honest about that. Good thing I didn't vote I guess, but I would have given it a reactionary 3.
Why?
Because while yes, you can quit photography without quitting DPC, that's a bloody cop-out answer to me. It's like being told you can't use wine glasses in a still life, but then using a beer glass instead. It's staying too close to a comfort level because nothing else is hitting you creatively.
But hey, it worked, it ribboned, life moves on right? :)
I just wanted to throw in my support for the DNMC'ers. I'm with you people. |

One Too Many Low Scores by LydiaComment by GeneralE: Originally posted by Jutilda: I don't see how anyone could even come close to saying DNMC. |
I'm sure it was the specificity of the challenge description:
Originally posted by Challenge Description: : Depict quitting this week in your entry... as long it's not quitting DPC. :) |
Without the title it could refer to photography in general, but the reference to low scores seems to tie it directly to the DPC experience.
I didn't vote on this one, and that's not necessarily my own opinion of the shot, but it's how I'd answer your question. |
