Posing a dead mouse, to me, is far, far, less of an issue than posing dead people: Bodies... The Exhibition
Great photo!

I was going to say that this was the hairiest frog I have ever seen, but it pales in comparison with reality.

Excellent job of re-animation. Franken-mouse is one of a kind. Congrats on the red!

@ Morgan she didn't hurt the mouse. She gave it one last moment in the sun. Now it's immortal, on this site.

How can one use a selective quote from Gandhi to mock how this image was created? If you take the time to read Gandhi's well documented writings and speeches, you will see his hatred for black South Africans, calling them K*ffirs, a derogatory term here in South Africa as is N*gger in the USA and is justifiably banned. His support for the (Asian) Indian Caste system, which is still in force in India today, has been compared to Apartheid. How anyone in their right mind can take one selective quote from a so called untouchable "great" as Gandhi without delving deeper into the man and his real beliefs is wearing rose tinted glasses.

Lydia could have unceremoniously dumped the little mouse in the trash can, yet she chose to immortalise "her" and share the image with us. No worse than walking past your Aunt Gertrude's open casket at the funeral parlor and taking one last snap, mental or celluloid erm CMOS.

Ignorance is bliss.

Hmm...I guess you consider zoos moral progress?

(By the way it's not a monkey!)

Any animals displaced for the runway? Habit ruined?

Did these fellows volunteer to be your beast of burden?

Any leather at home, in your car, on your feet, in your closet? Any gelatin in your medicine or vitamin capsules? Do you always it cage free eggs? When was the last time you didn't swat a fly or wipe up the ants in your kitchen? (I let them roam until they leave on their own, do you?)

I know my examples are over the top, but so is your attack.

It's so not right to attack the moral character of a person without looking in a mirror first. Walk your own journey.

Ummmm... Did I say that no animals were harmed? I really thought I had...

Did it seem as if I were patting myself on the back? 'Cause I missed that part...

And who made Gandhi be God? I missed that part, too. But even assuming he is... I still didn't mistreat an animal.

It was a carcass that I photographed.

Can we just say that folks here don't agree on a lot of stuff and drop it?

I'm sure if I looked, I could find something in your likes that I don't like. And I'm sure you could find more in mine that you don't like.

But, you know? ALL of us aren't perfect. Yes. All.

If you look around and see the choices... starvation of humans... sexual abuse of children... yes right there in your own neighborhood... you might see that photographing a dead mouse isn't really all that big a deal to get worked up about.

And I've decided that life is good with all of us here, anyway. I overlook the stuff that doesn't matter and try to focus on the good in everyone. I actually DO believe that life is good, even when it's not.

Have you seen the alternative? I've read about it in depth. And it sounds AWESOME (since I'm a Christian) and still... even with all of the misery and strife in the world and even in my own life, I don't kill myself.

Why?

Life is good. Even when it's not.

If you want to make a difference, go outside and do it, Morgan. I dare you.
