Waiting out the Rainby dsa157Comment by soccerdad: I think this photo is well done, but, she looks more like she is trying stay dry rather than wait out the rain. I would have entered it in the open challenge, because this is a very well taken portrait. |

Waiting out the Rainby dsa157Comment by cghubbell: I would have loved to see this in b/w to help with the mood of the image. The bright color of the girl's shirt almost defies the expression on her face. I like the way you've cropped - nice emphasis of your subject. |

You missed a spot!by dsa157Comment by moodville: The odd perspective bothers me a bit here, but that's a personal opinion. I do like the relative size difference between the cleaners and the size of the windows. |

You missed a spot!by dsa157Comment by e301: Dang it must be summer everywhere - all these bright daylight shots :-)
I'm not convinced by this: you seem to me to have fallen between focussing on the figures closely enough to give a sense of their precariousness, or widely enough to give a sense of their scale. The light doesn't help you - the strong shadows only help them to lend into the patterns of the background, and the larger shapes of the arches and the patterns of moulding rather overwhelm the image for me. I can't see a rationale for the cropping, either, nor the framing of these figures. 5 |
