The performerby MaggyeComment by MacDonald: NIce lighting on this photo .. like the DOF, adds to the isolation of the character from the b/g - as far as learning how to process b&w, it really depends on what look you are going for and what software you are using - check out the forums as there are some great tutorials there ... I am no expert but would also be willing to share the little I know. |

The performerby MaggyeComment by shalrath: What a character! If you like my style of black and white processing (not for everyone), I'd be happy to share it with you. Pop me a PM if you're interested. |

Reading Timeby MaggyeComment by citymars: Funny, my first thought too was "would be better if taken from a lower angle" -- guess we all have been well-trained. :-)
Good exposure, by the way, and I like the natural colors.

Reading Timeby MaggyeComment by Germaine: A lower angle probably would have been better in a perfect world, but you'd have been pretty conspicuous getting down to get the shot and probably would have lost it.
Very nice, natural tones, but I wonder what this would be like in b&w. |

Reading Timeby MaggyeComment by crik: A good study. Looks like he's settled in. I agree that a lower angle might have worked a little better but its not always possible when trying to get a candid. |

Reading Timeby MaggyeComment by shalrath: I love the fact that you've included his shoes, I don't know why I like shoes so much... but they really make this picture for me. |

Reading Timeby MaggyeComment by MacDonald: I like it when people just claim part of outside as their own .. he seems to have brought something to sit on - took his shoes off and is just ignoring the world. The slight smile on his face tells me he might just know you were there.. so maybe you could have just gone for it, crunched down and fired off a few... grin ... but I probably wouldn't have. |

Reading Timeby MaggyeComment by Maggye: Thanks for the comment Peter, yes I was afraid that he would notice me, and miss the candid mood, but you are right. you know what? next time I'll go for it, and we'll see what happens ;) |

Reading Timeby MaggyeComment by bassbone: an interesting character - i wonder if a lower angle would have worked a bit better - but it almost might of got you 'caught' - as it is, the angle and perspective makes it seem as if the man is not on the same level - placing yourself at his eye level could provide more lift to the shot |
