You'd be amazed how useful a pen is out in the field - but in the days before EXIF data all exposure info had to be written down frame by frame if you were experimenting, so a pen and book were more than essential. Plus don't you get ideas out on the road whilst waiting for long exposures to finish? I do...so a pen and book is essential :)

The fisheye-ness (if that makes sense) ruins this shot for me. The contrast is good and the compsotion is otherwiase very good.
