Super photo of a bird in its natural environment, with a background that allows the bird to stand out well. It may be worth slightly subduing the bright spot behind the bird's head.

I have had one of these guys hanging around here all summer, fascinating birds, unfortunately he has always been at the top of a very big fir tree in our garden so I havent been able to get close to him for this type of clarity, I have a few average shots of him perched flying up and flashing the white on his wings and know how quick they are and how hard to capture. Awesome shot, good luck. 8

Man that is one intense bird! I would have cropped alittle off the right and top to really get that eye close to the rule of thirds intersection and even more attention would have been placed on it for the most impact.

Nice DOF here. The lighting seems a tad too harsh, or maybe it's the colors that aren't "warm" - I can't quite put my finger on it. Good job keeping the focus on the subject - the eye on the bird looks great!
