good shot - how many of us haven't done something like that. I think we can all relate to that in some capacity ( i.e. too much engine oil, etc. ) I like the composition and the choice of colorful subjects. nice.

Nicely captured. Did you pluck the flower and lay it on the white bckground? And the cicada let you do this? Either wow, or it's dead ;) Nice colors, and the focus is nice and crisp where it is. The hard thing with macros is that the DOF is so shallow and that you have to get it just in the right spot. In this case, I believe that would've been the eye, but that's OOF.

Intereting and colour ful subject. Compsootion is fine, but could really use more DOF - too much of the wing and (crucially) the eye are out of focus. Could you try a smaller aperture?
