Night at the museumby Yo_SpiffComment by Melethia: I like the light and the architecture, but I suspect this is not coming across as a true duotone - more like a color shot with just red, white and black. Most true duotones (at least the way I understand them, have the "hue" throughout. For instance if this was a red toned image, there wouldn't be any whites. Does that make sense? |

Little animalsby Yo_SpiffComment by colorcarnival: I liked this one! I could easily see this being used as an advertisement. So cute how she has the face paint on and is really doing a great job of acting for you. I guess you have to be a parent to appreciate this lol. |

'Da Boys don't live here no moreby Yo_SpiffComment by bvy: Nicely lit. I froze my rear end off there a couple Thanksgiving's ago -- I think it even snowed (?).
ETA: Okay, I've thought about it some more. I think backing off and giving us more of the large scale form and structure and less of the nostalgic detail would have helped. As I said in my PM, the title doesn't help to that end. The side lighting is good, but not from this angle. Almost half the frame (left side) is in the shadows really. The colors you did capture, however, are beautiful. The blue sky against the gold is most appealing.
And it did snow that year! |

Eye of the Predatorby Yo_SpiffComment by fldave: Echoing vawendy, it is so bright, close and so clear that is seems somewhat artificial. I know first-hand how disheartening it is when you think you have a winner that falls short of your expectations... been there and done that (repeatedly.) |

Candy, anyone?by Yo_SpiffComment by fldave: I think most of the commenters knew what this was, and scored highly. For many others, it might have been an inside-joke of sorts: if they didn't recognize it as a humorous candy dispenser, then the "unique object" is a knick-knack and a piece of poo... for which a 5 is a reasonably good score. |

Eye of the Predatorby Yo_SpiffComment by vawendy: I gave this a 5. It was uncomfortably close--made me want to back up. Also, because of so close, it almost looked plastic. Also, eagle shots have been done many times--they're losing their impact for me. So they need to be spectacular to get a good score. |
