4 - Brown Heron -- correction, juvenile black crowned night heronby ErikVComment by ellamay: I like this shot, I have not seen a brown heron before. If i were hyper- critical, i think if you had stood up on your tiptoes or up a wee bit higher somehow, you may have gotten all green around his head vs. the stick, would of helped him to pop even more. But, I do think it is a good shot. Nice details... hope to see more of this guy... if he is close to your house maybe we can see him with a fish in his mouth or something : ) |

3 - Some Sort of Bee or Wasp (ETA or Hoverfly)by ErikVComment by MaryO: Actually it may be a fly of some sort ;-) Bug ID can drive you crazy with all the things that look like other things.
Great, crisp detail. I don't think you *need* extension tubes, though if you want them I can testify that they're great fun to play with. |
