This is nice panning because the boys in the background are clear enough to be recognized but out of focus enough not to take emphasis away from the three boys in the foreground.

Eric, what I find most fascinating about this photo is that it the right and left halves look like two different scenes. Other than the road, it looks like a combination of two pictures. Brown tree and water/rocks on one side, path and parklike dormant trees on the other. I'd probably prefer just one person/dog rather than the duplicated version. Good lines throughout, colors muted which is appropriate for a winter landscape.

If i see this right-- there was one runner and a couple with a dog. correct?? And maybe one other person top right? It's hard to figure out the sequence... In the nearest frame it looks like the couples dog jumped at the runner but the couple is not close by. Interesting...
