Tones are definately much better in this one. Little soft but that is probably because you are shooting through glass. Love the shallow DOF and composition.

Great capture of the duck landing in the water. Little flat. If you have photoshop you can try brightening up the shop with levels and then run USM setting such as 86 2 and 4. That should make him pop more. Try various cropping methods and you will be amazed by the impact. That is the advice I have recieved and they aren't kidding.

I really like the subject matter and the contrasting shapes (solid fish vs wavy tentacle-like things). Agree that focus is an issue -- might try some heavy duty sharpening (before you reduce the size) to see if you can salvage it some.
