Well, I'll definitely have to agree to disagree with the comment to not include the left third...especially since he mentions "the story." The sign is clearly warning of the dangers of crossing flood waters. The sign on the other side reaffirms this, but the driver chose to proceed anyhow. If this story plays out like a scene from a movie, the viewer is wondering what is going to happen as the car gets to the deeper and faster water in the middle. But so as not to totally disagree with Ben, taking some cues from darkroom technique you could de-emphasize the sign and pole a bit. I think this is waiting to play out like a major motion picture!

It's good there is that touch of yellow in the flower -- it really provides a focal point. I like this fine, but wonder if you could get closer, too.

Definitely in bad shape! I'm not sure that the left third adds much to the story. Cropped past the pole I get the sense that the tree would frame the car nicely.

I'm not sure why you went with a border. But since you did, I think a little thin white line between the actual photo and the black border would have set the photo off much more nicely. Anyway, not a bad lightning capture, I've not been able to do this very well yet.
