I like this concept but it is way to dark. I would have shown more of the diamond as well, possibly more than one! (like there are more laying around). maybe a starburst filter and some hidden glass to reflect. still a good concept.

Using the images you have choosen I see three possible ways to present this picture. 1, To have a posed picture exactly like you did. You see this type of image in many advertisements. 2, Have a more candid shot where your sister is not looking directly into the camera. 3. Move your sister into the dark area where she is just visible, perhaps the light just hitting her face, this would add mystery to the image. I prefer the candid shot or the mystery shot in challenges like this. Where your image works great in the family album, or as an advertizement for cloths. The colors are vibrant, the image is sharp and the composition is good. Keep up the good work and good luck on your current challenges. john gill

Greetings from the Critique Club.
This is a very fresh and creative approach to the challenge.
I like how you have the square stand out more by focusing just on it. I really don't mind the kiss in the foreground.
The compostion is nice and is very tight. You have very little negative spce, which I prefer. The only thing I would have tried to avoid is the Kisses label in the foreground. Maybe messing with your photo editor distorted it but I find it distracting. May removing that particular Kiss' label? I can't think of anything much to improve the photo. It is very nice but not I guess it just didn't stand out enough for some people to do better. Sorry I couldn't add more, please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.

Clever idea and the contrast works well. Lighting also enhances the picture.

challenge met. great idea! i like the positioning of the ring on the coals a lot, it really integrates the two parts. your frame is unusual but works well. i would potentially consider cropping the picture on the right. there really isn't anything there that enhances the picture, and it would move the diamond out of the middle into more of an off-center composition. still, good shot :)
