SSSS-wingby karmatComment by Charlene: Great tongue action and eyes closed. Nothing like having the kiddo giving it his all. Makes for a great story! |

Off to Work, Stay to Playby karmatComment by scalvert: One of my top picks for the challenge (gave it a 9). The idea is great, but I think the relative lack of appropriate emotion was a weak link. Maybe if the little girl was sneering at a depressed woman, or if the girl was heading out the door on a beautiful day while the woman is chained to a desk? |

Off to Work, Stay to Playby karmatComment by citymars: This is such a creative image. The connection between the balloon and the black ball on the chain is what really impresses me. I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 because of a couple of minor technical issues, namely the jaggies on the edge of the woman's jacket (possibly due to resizing?) and the slight tilt/distortion of the scene. Still, I think it should have been in the top ten. Very well done. |

Timeby karmatComment by Jutilda: Wonderful. I'm such a fan of negative space. Perfect for the theme of this one. Great contrast. |

SSSS-wingby karmatComment by rachelellen: Oh, nice shot! I love how his funny expression is the most in-focus part of the shot.
It looks like you had a really fun weekend. :) |

Wash-Melonsby karmatComment by rachelellen: The things they say! Now see if you call them washmelons long after she outgrows the term. (My son is eleven, and we still call several things by his old names for them. Sometimes, embarrassingly enough, in front of other adults. We eat mambingers and fwies, in the zitchen but never on the zouch, and for some reason we could never figure out, when we eat Raisin Bran, it has "meem-wees" in it.)
She's lovely. What a great candid. |

Wash-Melonsby karmatComment by citymars: S'mores! :-)
Nice story and a really nice photo to go with it. This brings back many sweet memories. Your daughter is such a pretty little girl, I remember when my little sister was this age, a pretty child also and her hair was just as blonde and fine.
PS: Germaine's comment prompts me to add, in our family we also still call it pssghetti. The funniest came from my brother, who asked for more "Present Day" jelly. A big puzzler until we ID'd the jar of "Currant" jelly in the refrigerator. :-) Message edited by author 2007-07-16 12:36:09. |
