It's actually a neat picture, just not too many shadows! For some reason I find it funny that this happened. I probably wouldn't be laughing if it were me. At least not for a long time!

you didnt get your rural landscape but you got an excellent photograph anyway ... & you've still got time for the challenge .. i considered entering but i cant complete with those amazing scenes in iceland and canada etc etc .. i live in a very rural setting but the grass is yellow and dry looking and the trees are mostly gums which dont translate into an attractive photograph most of the time IMO & i dont have time to go anywhere except close to home .. probably a good thing that i dont try coz my challenge entries are bombing out lately .. :)

I worked in the corn fields one summer. It's hard work! I forget when it's harvested; I wonder if there will still be corn to photograph by late August.

looks oof and lacks intresting shadows from the feather. If the feather is white it appears to be red in the shot, maybe a color balance correction is needed or a different light source.
