Yes, thats right... I said Ribbit!by JaimeVinasComment by aliqui: I looked at a few pages of photos that placed higher than this image, and I probably would have placed it higher. As for what went wrong, I'm not really sure.
I do get the feeling that I want to pull out and turn the image to an angle, but I also realize that wouldn't be what you were going for. The colors also seem a little cold for what DPC voters usually go for. I played with just contrast, and bumping it +20 makes the eyes really stand out.
I wonder if it's a psychological reaction. Maybe the voters just aren't used to looking at frog eyes. Maybe they were unconsciously wanting the eyes to be facing forward like Kermit.
The more I look at the image while trying to focus on the eyes, the more the image splits in half, and I don't see the eyes at all. I look straight up the middle and see nothing; not even the cute little froggy nostrils. That might explain my initial reaction in the first paragraph of wanting to pull out and turn to the side. |

All it took was one bite...by JaimeVinasComment by Breeee123: I like the angle of your shot a lot and you have good lighting and a perfect model, but the grass is distracting and doesn't add much to your photo. I think it would have been much better to have her lying on a prettier bed of moss or flowers. |
