I haven't seen the version before you adjusted contrast, but it is definitely overdone now :). You have to be very careful with contrast adjustments, I learned the hard way to simply stay away from the contrast slider. Tweaking levels or curves usually (always, if you know how to operate them :) gives much better results. The most serious problem of this shot now is the oversaturated red channel, so the texture of the flower petals is obliterated. Maybe it happened when you boosted the contrast, or maybe it was like this from the start, I don't know. Even if the latter. if the original is in RAW you may try to salvage this by partially desaturating it before conversion to JPEG.

i hope you don't mind my blabbering Courtney, I am just trying to help... and thank you for your comment! :)

I see what you're getting at with the red popcorn, but what're the green bits?

It's an ok shot, but for me the background is too busy and distracting. I would as make a tighter crop as trevytrev said also.

nice shot, I might crop the photo closer to the flower to put more focus on the flower and bee, maybe a square crop. I feel the space on both sides of the flower adds nothing to the composition. I might also boost the contrast just a tad and run it through sharpening, all just a matter of taste though.

Thanks :)
It's funny because this picture was actually an accident..the wedding was a few days after I bought my camera,so I had NO idea how to use any of the functions on it;every picture was just taken on AUTO...When this picture came out I was frustrated because it focused on the flowers and not the bride and groom..once I cropped the back of someone's head out of the bottom right corner,it's actually one of my favorite pictures..funny how that works..
