Palpably held there floating by the dry plant, like a dirigible tethered to its tower. I want to hold my breath at the delicacy of it. Lovely bokeh. At first glance it was a dancer taking a bow.

This one appears to be floating. A hint of stem might work better but could challenge the simplicity you are after.

Lovely lighting and a nice study in form. For me, Edward Weston is the master of this genre. His b&w still life photography placed more emphasis on form. Color adds additional information which offers a different viewer experience. Kind of rambling here but I look forward to seeing how you approach this theme for the month.

Yes, we always enjoy photographing the cats. This was one of the newer additions to Ott's feline family, probably born last summer. The mother belongs to one of the women who manages Ott's. I'm pretty sure this is the mother:

Exposure: 1/100 sec.
ISO:200 (vary this according to lighting cond.)

PP is fairly simple:
PhotoStudio 5.5 - cropping/sizing, minor brighten/contrast, & hue/sat. Also used to black-out background.
Photomatix Pro 6.0.3 for Finishing Touch: Contrast, highlights, lights, darks & shadows, sharpening.
Neat Image v8 - Final filtering of image.
