Winter Sunset, Lake Galenaby digifotojoComment by Covert_Oddity: This is a nice shot with a good mood. I can't actually tell if it's snow / ice / water, I suspect it is frozen water with snow on top, either way, that doesn't really matter too much. The blown out sun has ended up being a strange shape, but what can you do, shooting with the sun in the frame is always a touch unpredictable. My only other complaint is that there isn't really any detail in the dark areas, but this is made up for in a way by the detail in the clouds. 6 |

Autumn's Remnantsby digifotojoComment by bspurgeon: This I like! ;) Good composition. It does feel a bit grainy, but it seems to match the color and tone of the darker leaves so it's masked. |

Nesting Snow Gooseby digifotojoComment by Lydia: Perhaps the full frame would have scored better for you... since there would be much less noise than is showing here.
You've got it right... you win some, you lose some....
But, as long as we've had some comments that help us grow... then we're ahead of the game, huh? |

Nesting Snow Gooseby digifotojoComment by J-Me: Wow, either my eyes need a "tune up" or some people's monitors need one! ;)
I don't see "the grain" that commenters are talking about and more than anything, they've bypassed a TREMENDOUS photo in lieu of this alleged "grain"????
I love the color, composition, crop and the abstractness of this shot, Jo! Really wonderfully done! Don't let the voters in here take you down. This is a tremendous shot and one that you should be very, very proud of!
(((((HUGS)))))
DPC is going crazy! ;)
ETA: BTW...I find it ironic that out of that entire shot, the only criticism given was this "grain" or "pixelization"??? Since I can't see it....I'm wondering just how "distracting" (hate that term as it's used constantly) it really was??? Therefore, the big question...were they actually seeing the photograph and looking at it....or, were they bypassing it and looking only for flaws???
Seems to me it was the latter! Such a shame to miss an entire wonderful photograph!
Ok...got that out...I can BREATHE now! ;) Message edited by author 2009-01-23 12:40:16. |
