Naokoby IncarlightComment by SJCarter: Very cool crop. I like how close up this is and the emphasis on her eyes. Very mysterious expression she has too - leaves the viewer wondering what she is thinking. The only thing that really bothers me is the white space on the right of her hand. It's really blown out and distracting from the image (IMHO). Still overall a very nice job. |

Old churchby IncarlightComment by Jutilda: This is really nice on several levels. It gives your eye so much to look at. It has leading lines, great contrast, super clarity, different perspective and overall a nice visual quality that is interesting to view. Great composition!!! |

I was surprised I could get the shot in focus at all at f/1.8. I just autofocused on her ear, switched to manual to focus just a bit closer, tapped her shoulder, and took the photo as she turned around.
The original was in landscape orientation, but after I entered this in an "Eyes" photo challenge on worth1000.com I got a good suggestion on how to crop it.
