I think it might be better to keep the plate anchored at the bottom of the frame. Your crop makes me feel like I'm falling into the food or some effect like that. Hard to explain or put a finger on but there's an odd thing happenong here.

A very striking image - well-balance, composed and executed - resulting in what appears almost three dimensional. The lighting is fantastic and the gumdrops and their reflection seem to be floating as there is virtually no indication of a surface.
