golden fieldby david_cComment by cujee: for some reason it doesn't say that Photomatix is illegal, but I remember they made an announcement saying it was and stuff. |

golden fieldby david_cComment by david_c: It is? I'm positive I've seen processing details for basic entries that include single RAW files processed in Photomatix.
That would be problematic, since I self-DQ'ed a couple of challenges ago. :-(
edit: I'm not seeing anything in the Basic rules that would indicate Photomatix is prohibited. ??

It is unfortunate becuase Photomatix pro does much the same as Shadows/Highlights does in PS for a single image and shadows/ highlights are allowed in basic...strange huh? | Message edited by author 2008-07-09 17:00:24. |

Yep, it is. The RAW file was converted to DNG, and the DNG was tone-mapped in Photomatix. The "curves" adjustment in Photoshop brought out the sky. Of course, that left the foreground painfully over-staurated. :-( | Message edited by author 2008-07-09 09:42:31. |

golden fieldby david_cComment by bassbone: the pot of gold can't be far away - the deepness of the golden yellow grasses to offset the blues of the sky really work together |
