Candle in the windby yyyapComment by jmsetzler: I saw this same phenomenon in the popcorn photo in this challenge. Your candle flame is absorbing the blue light from the rest of the image. I'm not sure that a candle flame is the best choice of subjects for a 'stopped motion' challenge. The composition of this photograph is nice. I'm not impressed with its association with 'stopped motion'. |

Candle in the windby yyyapComment by Gordon: A fresher candle might have been less dirty and given an overall cleaner picture ? Framing is a bit too loose, could do with being closer. |

Candle in the windby yyyapComment by Speigner: Good idea. This would be beautiful if you cropped the image in a tight vertical off center to the right. The emphasis would then visually be placed on the candle and the flame. |

Music and Lightby yyyapComment by yyyap: Thanks people, for all your constructive comments. You are all right, of course. I used two light sources. One soft lamp above the guitar, and another light bulb by the side to get the highlights. While it was used for interest, looking back it IS quite distracting. I'm wondering how I could have made light reflect in curved way by the side of the body. For those who gave me the 9's and 10's - I'm totally flattered by the undeserved marking. Thanks :) |

Music and Lightby yyyapComment by davew: I like this kind of shot. I assume you wanted the highlights on the side of the instrument to add some interest. However, the highlights are a little too strong for my tastes as they overpower the shot by drawing too much attention. Good job nonetheless. |
