Gorgeous bird!!! I've only seen one of these once, when a pet Rosella was surrendered to the animal shelter where I volunteer. This one looks tamer than the "pet" we had ;-)

What beautiful feathers on that bird. It's difficult to shoot this sort of shot with one hand and not shake the camera. I think that I would have tried to turn so that the bird would be more in front of the darker tree instead of the bright background.
I am wondering if you used fill flash? If you did, it's just the right amount for the shot. The exposure for the bird is right on, and the highlight in the eye is good too.

Ha! You are so lucky to have koalas to take photos of! They are one of the most adorable creatures on the planet! How can he be comfortable in that position? :) Wonderful detail and softness on the fur. You can almost feel it! Great capture!
