Sea Gull 3.jpgby TerComment by Jedusi: It is a Greater Black Backed Gull ( Larus marinus)- and from the red on the beak it also looks like it has young to feed.
The red spot grows noticably larger and brighter when it has young. The youngsters then peck at it as a stimulous for the mother to regurgitate food for them. Message edited by author 2009-02-05 02:34:59. |

Tranquility by TerComment by briantammy: since this is a still photo i don't hear anything, but i imaging lots of noisy birds in this scene. there may not have been but that is the image i get. i like those blue flowers. |

Tranquility by TerComment by dino1899: I think the composition is a bit crowded and cannot quite see the point. the blue flowers in the foreground are a good idea, but a larger field (wider angle) would have made things more interesting, IMO. Nice light |
