I like the sentiment of these kind of photos and as a story they are a great record. This has good colour from the poppies contrasted against the b&w photo. I also strongly think we should remember all these people who lost their lives. However, as as stand alone photograph in a photography challenge I'm not so sure they work so well. It would be great to see this in an exhibition with lots of other similar photos maybe.

Thanks for your comments. I had the camera pointing up and just kept firing. Only did a little usm. Could not do anything about the crop - that's was how it came out. A bit of a panic entry because I have not been taking photos much lately.

This has a lot of potential and I like how the subject is intimate with the camera and hence viewer. I would have cropped a bit higher and perhaps gotten his eyes on a third. Also, the bits of food (or whatever) around his face could have been cloned out.

Lovely model with a nice expression. The crop is a bit severe for me as it intrudes into the eye area.
