This is much better big than as the thumbnail! Love the little drops falling off. The flower is very beautiful, clear where it needs to be clear, and has good colour. The background is strange - is that a leaf or something on the ground?

The swellings on the end of the stamens that Anne talked about are actually anthers, where the pollen is made.

Kind of crazy...all those stamens and only 1 pistil in the middle. This array makes for an interesting photo.

PS: I thought I'd seen this earlier..the flower that is! I like this composition much more than the other. the flower really stands out here, funny how the stamen changes..I'm guessing those pods are at the endof the blooms' life..perhaps that's liek rose hips & where the ingredients come from for their medicinal components??
