Lonely White Flowerby ColeyComment by whagerbaumer: The foliage is not that appealing to me in color or form. I would therefore have liked a tighter crop around the flower itself. A 5. |

Lonely White Flowerby ColeyComment by Kylie: Lovely flower; I would have liked to see more color, though. IMO, de-sat works best with one deeply saturated color rather than more neutral ones. Focus is a bit soft. |

Lonely White Flowerby ColeyComment by emorgan49: Sometimes an off center composition is more interesting. This one needs some punch somehwere - maybe saturating the yellow stamens? Maybe a closer crop? High contrast black and white? Despite the perfect focus and DOF, this one is lacking in composition. |

Portrait Doubleby ColeyComment by Neuferland: Is it a mirror or water? Interesting take on the challenge and a classic profile shot. But the starkness of the blackness surrounding the face works against this shot for me. Too much negative space for such a classic profile. A 5 |

Portrait Doubleby ColeyComment by TooCool: A bit gimmicky for my taste! This was taken underwater right? How did you light it and what kind of camera/case did you use? Just wondering...

Portrait Doubleby ColeyComment by David.C: Lighting: The lighting is well done. Considering the subject is wet, it is suprising the highlights are not more hot than they are (which is not at all hot).
Pose: There is not much in the way of pose, but I would like to suggest that the camera's viewpoint and the drection of the eyes are at odds with each other. One (the perspective) moves the eyes into the frame, while the modes expression pushes it out of the frame.
Background: Wonderful black, although I would have liked to have some separation between the background and the model's hair. |

Portrait Doubleby ColeyComment by GeneralE: Pretty well-executed example of this technique -- I might have used the Burn or Clone tools to tone down the brightest highlights on the chin. |

Lonely White Flowerby ColeyComment by tyt2000: I don't think the almost centered composition here works :) Maybe try composing it using the rule of thirds, it'll look better...Good luck. |
