There Are Angels Everywhereby ColeyComment by loseme: *Critique Club*
Ok...I love the angel shots, no matter what they just grab my attention and I remember seeing this one during the challenge.
Great placement in the Singled Out Challenge, I think 15th is excellent is such a hard category. I think black and white was an excellent choice in this piece it allows the viewers to focus on the subject and not get distracted by the foreground being bright or overpowering. I like the DOF, I think blurring the foreground was key to single out the subject itself. I think the ice rink also gives this piece just a little more as opposed to if you took it in a store or just out in town. I personally don't see anything I would change, I think you did excellent work and the votes are a pretty good reflection in this situation. Wonderful candid. |

Emulate Martin Schoellerby ColeyComment by persimon: Clean and soft. Very simple image, yet evocative. I like the way the dark shart ties in with the dark hair to balance the top and bottom. The brown eyes work very well with the pink of the skin and lips. |

Emulate Martin Schoellerby ColeyComment by Melethia: Very representative! Needs a bit more "erasing" on the right of the picture, but indeed a good interpretation of the challenge and your chosen photographer. |

Emulate Martin Schoellerby ColeyComment by agenkin: A lovely model. I did a brief search for Martin Schoeller, and this shot emulates his style of framing portraits quite well. The eyes are looking a bit up, which I find (for some reason). I like it other wise - a very nice picure. |

Emulate Martin Schoellerby ColeyComment by Rikki: Seems like you used your eraser tool to remove something on the right side of the photo. I can see it clearly. I think the focus on this image is great and I like the look of seeing the light strobe in her eyes. Great job on that one. What distracts me though is the background. If it were pure white, I think this would have been a stronger image. 6 |
