Pi in binaryby kiskatComment by timfythetoo: Greetings from the Critique Club -
Let me first say that without looking at your description I would have had no clue whether or not you met the challenge description. Now after reading yoru description I stil lhave noc lue whether or not you met the challenge description> I will take your word for it and believ ethat you did. I don't know binary. You could have told me anything.
Now to the image itself. ;)
Interesting pic. Nice colors and the pattern is cool. I think I may have preferred to see a bit more of the trail in focus before blurring out. Slightly higher aperture would have given that. Overall not much else to comment on here. Probably your biggest issue with any low voters would be not understanding how this met the challenge. That and the lack of any real wow power. Its a pleasant image technically and compositionally but lacks the impact that voters want when giving higher scores.
That said - welcome to DPC. This is a great place to learn and grow and most of all have fun. Keep shooting and keep having fun. I expect you will find this palce to be as addictive as I have. Hang int here!

Flower over the lakeby kiskatComment by Melethia: Greetings from the Critique Club!
First impression - I like this! It makes me smile. Looks like a lovely day, and a very lovely view.
Technicals - very crisp focus on your subject and nice depth of field to blur the background yet keep it coherent. Lighting is very good.
Meets the challenge - yep. Looks quite rule of thirds to me. What may have helped your score a bit, though, would be to have the horizon on a third line as well. That said, I quite like it on the half line. Adds a nice balance to the third line with the flower.
This is a lovely, quiet shot, and an excellent first challenge entry. Don't let scores around here discourage you - keep shooting and keep entering! |

Pi in binaryby kiskatComment by boyd2000: Hmmm...I know binary, but I don't see pi there. I would have tried to make more of the flowers in focus, but let them get out of focus as it trails back, symbolizing the infinite progression of pi. |

Pi in binaryby kiskatComment by seb-ksl: Clever idea and sweet shot... But In my opinion it's just a bit too far from the PI idea. I may increase my skill at binary. |
