Tattered And Tornby jmsetzlerComment by p_johns: I was going to suggest color, but I really like it in B&W too! The gradients in the colors are really emphasised in B&W and its different. Why does it all have to be in colour? |

Tattered And Tornby jmsetzlerComment by mk: Great shot though I'm wondering why you chose to go b&w? It almost feels lacking since butterflies are so much about color. |

Tattered And Tornby jmsetzlerComment by p_johns: Very nice! Framing is perfect and I love the detail in the wood before it falls off into the DOF. Amazing how powerful B&W can be! |

Tattered And Tornby jmsetzlerComment by bod: Very nice indeed. A great idea to show such a colourful insect in B&W - it really brings out the texture of the wings. Top stuff. |

Tattered And Tornby jmsetzlerComment by BobsterLobster: Good use of b&w here, risky when shooting colourful insects. Here it is used to enhance the mood of a butterfly down on it's luck. I like the way the eye is lead to the top-right of the frame, enhancing the idea that the subject is not ready to fly off yet. Effective crop, great textures, good sharpness. 10 |
