Would have been a stronger image if you cropped the top blurred bird off and just made it square with a different title like feeding on seeds. Also wondering if your ISO was off. What was it?

Isn't that always the way of things? You find a good spot and then someone comes along and wants to take it away. Love the pose of the bird in the background. Much of the background looks overly noisy on my screen.

minor disrepair does not constitute abandoned in my opinion. i see nothing in this image that would make me fel this building has been abandoned. the windows still are intact, the paint is not peeling everywhere, there is nothing else wrong aside from the eavestrough being bent
