I've found that the 10-D doesn't suffer from the long exposure grain that other digital cameras do. |

1:19 AMby QuadrajetComment by lbWhaples: I don't know much about the cannon EOS-10D but 1)how do you leave the shutter open for 175 seconds and 2)how do you prevent the graniness characteristic of long exposures?
This is an awesome photo. Would have voted 10 if a member! |

1:19 AMby QuadrajetComment by Quadrajet: Well, I should probably explain this image a bit more huh?
Canon 10-D
ISO 100
175 second exposure
16mm Zenitar fisheye lens (f/5.6)
I was at a local park at 1:19 in the morning. I positioned the camera so the moon was behind the outhouse (yes an outhouse). The specs in the sky are stars with their short star trails. The light in the sky is produced by clouds passing in front of the moon.
The light on AND inside the building was produced by myself waving a flashlight around. The moon, flashlight and stars were the only light sources.
Thanks for all your comments and votes!

1:19 AMby QuadrajetComment by pinback: Nice effect - what is producing the light behind the building? The quality of the light makes the building look unreal - like it's been CGI rendered (I'm not suggesting it has been :-) The cool steely blue of the sky contrasts well with the warm lighting in the building. |
