poppy-field.jpgby boyd2000Comment by slaakso: I get the picture, these beautiful flowers go on forever. What a wonderful sight to behold. Thanks for showing the macro to the big picture. Do these flowers have a smell to them? |

day 3 - California Poppyby boyd2000Comment by slaakso: I really like the DOF here and the colors are soooooooo vibrant. The softness on the flower in the foreground adds a luxurious feel to the macro. |

day-4---Snail-and-Iris-2.jpgby boyd2000Comment by Arcanist: WOOT! Very sweet edit. I might leave just a hint of the background in the image to give it depth and add a hint of light from behind. A bit of burn on the underside of the snail and on the gold to lessen the backlight impact and this one is perfect. Message edited by author 2008-03-05 08:07:03. |

Snail and Irisby boyd2000Comment by ShutterPug: I find snails to be very interesting subjects. I really wish we had them here - but they'd freeze to death. On the technicals, the highlights appear blown. Not sure if you can correct it much in PS or not. |

Snail and Irisby boyd2000Comment by Arcanist: Serendipitous capture! The background coloration fights with the subject. Perhaps an application of burning to the background would bring the subject into a solid front stage appearance. To me this comes off a bit soft and a strong sharpening on the shell/flower would also help to separate the bkg from the fore. Nice choice for crop and the waterdrops are a great accent! |

poppys-2.jpgby boyd2000Comment by patio127: So pretty the focus on the purple flowers is nice - the poppies look like a Monet? painting...Or is it Manet ? |
