Local Callsby bvyComment by paperpages: Hard to tell what the focus of the picture is supposed to be. The guy, or the payphone? A better angle may have helped. |

Local Callsby bvyComment by Teafran: The sense of "moment" is present in this image and the obvious character being captured carries some visual impact. Technically speaking, rating is a problem because while the author's intent is clear, the lack of facial detail and rather excessive background is a negative. From an artistic standpoint, it lacks impact. A worthy entry into the challenge just lacking that something special to make it stand out. |

Local Callsby bvyComment by Gnarf: i liked this when i first saw it, dont quite know what, but theres something. the way the hand is relaxing there, maybe because it hides hes face, making it unusual. or the few colors, blue reapeating etc. nice i like it |

Just a Treeby bvyComment by trevytrev: This oatmeal box really does impress me....well actually your shots really impress me but I'm just surprised at the quality of the shots from this simple camera. Even more surprising is the distortion they have, very intriguing. The angle you used really emphasizes the imposing character of the tree, well done! |

Smithfield Street Bridgeby bvyComment by tph1: Very cool shot. Your commentary is a great addition. This photo, then, for me, is an example of what happens to the world around me when I am doing something I love... it just disappears.

Smithfield Street Bridgeby bvyComment by bvy: Originally posted by krnodil: Awesome - what photo paper do you use for the Oats camera? |
This is Ilford Multigrade Resin Coated paper, 5x7, satin. It's VERY contrasty, and my biggest challenge has been controlling exposure. It seems to respond best in bright overcast conditions and late in the day. Bright sunshine, heavy overcast and indoors are hard.
My order of grade 2 paper just arrived today. Graded paper is supposed to be tamer than multigrade, so we'll see what happens.
You should give it a try! |
